Excessive exposure to sunlight, as well as a fair complexion, makes one susceptible to both premature aging and skin cancer. Living in south Florida, we are all at risk for both of these problems, which are often times extremely difficult (challenging) to treat. Because early detection is critical, our dermatologists proactively examine their patients to identify suspicious skin conditions and lesions. Depending on our diagnosis, treatment may include topical cream, surgery, chemotherapy, or even radiation. As every condition and patient is different, we will develop a customized treatment plan that best fits the diagnosis. We’ll also provide support every step of the way. We educate our patients on their skin condition along with the treatments available and offer guidance to help keep their skin healthy in the years to come.
Mohs Surgery
When appropriate, Mohs Surgery allows for the immediate and complete microscopic examination and elimination of certain skin cancers. Our dermatologists are at the forefront of this procedure, which yields the highest reported cure rate. We work closely with nearby Universities and Hospitals to not only help treat the critically ill but to also contribute to research in our field. Additionally, we have both medical students and residents rotating in our office, thus training the next generation of physicians.
Superficial Radiation Therapy (SRT) for Skin Cancer
SRT provides a Non-Surgical Alternative for Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer & an Effective Solution for Keloids. The Sensus laser utilizes superficial radiation therapy to attack non-melanoma skin cancer cells at the source without cutting the skin. Furthermore, there is no downtime and patients can return to their everyday lives right after treatment!
